The forums will be interactive and consist of follow up activities in each city, copies of speaker's books
and community based service providers that work with youth and families. The forums will feature national expert that focus specifically on parenting an African American male, mental health, reconnecting fathers to the family, legal support and counsel, emotional support, and financial literacy.
Our targeted goal is to build a learning network of 1,500 single moms within the initial two cities. The
cities were selected based on quality of life issues that impact African American males (rates of
homicides, incarceration and drop out statistics.
The campaign realizes that a great deal of resources exist within communities. The campaign's strategic
partners were selected to ensure our ability to create a service linkages among the mothers who attend
each forum.
