The Raising Him Alone Campaign invites single mothers who are raising a male child from across the country to write a short essay (450 words) about “What does it take to raise a healthy male child in a toxic society?” The contest is a part of the campaign’s overall efforts to improve the lives of children and families.

Winning essayists will receive a reconditioned Dell Laptop. Four winners will be selected from across the country. The winning essays will be posted on our web site. Sponsored by the Urban Leadership Institute, RASP & Institute for Interactive Instruction. Essays are due by 6:00 p.m. on September 30, 2010. Winners will be notified by October 15, 2010. Essays must include the following information: Name & Address, City & State, Contact Telephone number & email address, and the Number of male children that you are raising. Essays can be completed via our web site by clicking the button below or by emailing Charlene Strawberry at Cstrawberry@urbanleadershipinstitute.com.

Congratulations to the Raising Him Alone Winners of the Exceptional Mom Contest

Five mothers from across the country were selected by a team of judges. Over 200 moms who are raising sons were nominated. Our judges selected five winners from 48 semi-finalists. Each winner received a Mother’s Day Gift bag.
